How to choose a Christmas tree

Health – Make sure the plant looks happy and healthy, and free of pest and diseases.

Shape – Choose a tree with a pleasing shape (a symmetrical form is best) with good branches for attaching decorations.

Container – Most trees will come in a black plastic pot, so think about how you might decorate it, or find a nice ornate container of a suitable size to slip the pot into.

There are a number of Australian natives that make excellent Christmas trees. In the December issue, John Patrick profiles eight different natives. Grab your copy now.
